NYC AmeriCorps*VISTA Program

Spend a year in service to New York City, through the AmeriCorps*VISTA (often called "VISTA"). VISTA offers the opportunity for indirect, capacity-building service and requires a college degree or significant work experience.

The Coalition places 14 VISTAs per year in New York City emergency food programs, anti-hunger organizations, and the Coalition's main office. Whether managing volunteers, grant writing, or providing kitchen and pantries with technical assistance, the VISTA experience is never dull. It is ideal for a motivated self-starter who seeks a richer work experience in the nonprofit world than many entry-level jobs can provide. A VISTA position at the Coalition is a job of appreciable responsibility; with that comes experience and confidence that our VISTAs take with them as they progress through the professional world.
