Learn more about NYCCAH's Involvement in the Film
In the wealthiest nation in the world, more than 16 million children, or one in five, live in households that can't afford enough food. This month, an hour-long special devoted to this issue premieres on the Food Network.
“Hunger Hits Home,” narrated by anti-hunger activist Jeff Bridges, takes a first-hand look at the crisis of childhood hunger in America through the eyes of the parents, children, educators, politicians and anti-hunger activists (including the Coalition's Executive Director Joel Berg) on the front-lines of the battle. The film is part of an ongoing partnership between Food Network and Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.

Inspired to Help the CSA Project Featured in the Film?
Here are a few ways you can help support CSAs and our efforts to end childhood hunger.
Contact your U.S. Senators and Representatives and ask them to ensure that: 1) The 2012 Farm Bill funds Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs in low-income communities (like The Coalition's Farm Fresh CSA Program featured in Hunger Hits Home) and 2) to increase funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) to ensure that low-income families can use these benefits at CSAs. Click here to find the contact information for your local elected officials.
Donate to the Coalition Against Hunger. Your tax-deductible donation supports our programs-including our Farm Fresh CSA program-which promote long-term solutions to ending hunger in America.
