The 9th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Serve-A-Thon brought out hundreds of volunteers yesterday to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King through community service activities.
Organized by the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, Serve-A-Thon events included Breakfast in the Classroom outreach, public art projects, food stamps screenings and enrollment assistance at supermarkets, and general-improvement efforts at emergency food programs throughout the five boroughs.
